Tom Fowler was born to Lawson (Deb Wood-Fowler) and Dona (Miller) Fowler on July 30, 1964 and raised in Lee's Summit with his three sisters; Terri Bressman (Kevin) Dumdei of Lone Jack, MO; Tracie (Shawn) Jarvis of Bochito, OK; and Trisha (Michael) Arcuri.
When Tom asked for, and received, a guitar for his 12th birthday, his life became permanently intertwined with music. Rarely did Tom go without being in a band in various levels of intensity, and played and sang in all types of locations, from garages and basements, while camping, canoeing and climbing mountains, weddings and, of course, gigs at several different bars. He often reminisced about playing in the Lee's Summit High School talent show, shortly after the Performing Arts Center was initially built in 1979, loudly playing Free Bird to a crowd of classmates which camouflaged the dismissal bell and made all who attended late for their next class.
After graduating high school in 1982, Tom honed his skills of becoming a Jack of All Trade. Landscaping, building/remodeling, and concrete work were just a few skills that his friends and family relied upon him for.
Tom leaves behind his amazing son, Josh Whenham, 31, of Pleasant Hill and his loving psuedo-wife who was blessed to be with him since 2000, Sheila Duncan, and a wave of friends and family any person would be proud of.
Tom wished to donate any organs and tissues possible to help improve other lives.
Tom wanted to be remembered by friends and family with a get-together to celebrate his life that will be held at Tiff N Jay's, 700 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64064 on Friday, April 19th beginning at 6:00 pm. There will be a time for sharing at 6:30 pm and all are welcome to stay and remember Tom.
