Thomas E. Carpenter age 79, resident of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS.
Thomas was retired from General Motors where he was Regional Service Manager for 37 1/2 years and a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Memberships include: Masonic Lodge of Indianapolis, the Antique Auto Club at the Abadllah Shrine of Overland Park, KS and the MoKan Model Railroad Club. Thomas loved to work on and restore cars, there was nothing he could not do. He is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Nellie Carpenter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Rose-Marie who he adored, his face would light up when she would walk into a room, son David Carpenter of Overland Park, KS; daughter Kimberly Sarlls and husband Roy of Booneville,Arkansas; daughter Laura Fievet and husband Mike of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren Kyle Oothout, Ryan Sarlls and wife Kim, Carolynn Sarlls, Amy Hanson and Heather Hanson; brother James Carpenter of Washington, MO; brother-in-law Lewis Tyner and wife Phyllis of Cleveland, TN; mother-in-law Ida Tyner of Overland Park, KS and 5 nephews.
