Steve Alexopoulos

Steven Theodore Alexopoulos, 59, passed away on December 26, 2016 after a long fight with prostate cancer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 am, interment will follow in Longview Cemetery.
Steve was born on April 1, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri and was blessed with employment, education, and family.
Steve was a truck loader in his early work career. Looking for a change and prior to graduating from UMKC, he was hired as a part-time file clerk for the U.S. District Court. Steve went on to become the Court’s Budget and Procurement Manager and worked there 31 years. Steve retired from the Court in June 2016.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Ted Alexopoulos. He is survived in death by his wife, Dawn; sons: Luke and Nathan; twin sister, Jami and her husband, Bruce Metsinger; and niece, Bailey Reimer.
Despite an early departure, Steve was grateful for the life he was given.
