Sharon Loraine Swafford

Sharon Loraine Swafford, a great mother, passed away on May 14th, 2023, in Pleasant Valley, Missouri at the age of 84. She was born on February 25th, 1939, in Ottawa, Kansas to her late parents Lynn and Mildred Gambrill. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Swafford who she was happily married to for 45 years before his passing in 2000. She is survived by her children Nancy Tipton (Tom) and Allen Swafford (Paula): grandchildren Emily Earnest (Daniel), Sarah Earnest Klee (Brian), Steven Swafford, and Jeffery Swafford: great-grandchildren Eli Earnest, Liam Earnest, Henry Earnest, Owen Klee, and Aiden Swafford. Her sisters Glenda King and Marsha Dorrell. She will be deeply loved and remembered by all her family members and friends.

Sharon's life revolved around making others happy- She was kind to everyone she met, and her welcoming personality always made people feel comfortable in her presence. Her love for her family knew no bounds. Sharon's husband and children were the center of her world. She was an excellent cook and well known for making fried chicken that tasted like heaven.

In addition to being a great cook, Sharon had many interests including embroidering which she was wonderful at, going bowling with Kenneth, and singing in the church choir with a beautiful voice that brought joy to all those around her at Red Bridge Baptist where she has been a member for 40 years enjoying fellowship and long-lasting friendships. Sharon loved working in the Nursery at the church and watching all the children grow-up.
