Samuel Keith Bowman, 85, of Independence, MO passed away on August 9, 2017.
Keith was born on September 18, 1931 to Jesse and Pearl Bowman in Windsor, Missouri. He graduated from Manuel High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Working in the electronics field all of his life, Keith worked for Communication Accessories Corporation (CAC) in Grandview Mo. After CAC was purchased by Collins Radio, Keith went on to work from home, doing electronics design and repair in the radio and television fields. With his passion for understanding how things worked, and electronics in general, Keith was licensed (WDØHID) as an Amateur Radio Operator. One of his favorite things to do was talk to people around the world, using International Morse Code at 40 words per minute. Keith also enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and whistling his favorite tunes. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Vesper Hall, and Palmer Center. He will be remembered for imparting his interests on his children and grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Deloras Copenhaver and Darlene Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 65 years; his children: Laurinda (Roger) Armer, Rhonda (Steve) Sullivan, and Keith (Laura) Bowman; his grandchildren: Jessica, Tracey, Lauralyn, Tiffany, Ashley, and Sam; his great-grandchildren: Michaela, Chandis, Emory, Kylee, Taylor, Brady, and Jordie; his sister, Ada Ayers; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00 – 10:30 am, with a service at 10:30 am, all at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to One Community Hospice.
