Mrs. Sally Nielsen

Sally Louise Nielsen, 73, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away July 9, 2010 due to complications with cancer (multiple myeloma).
She was born on December 21, 1936 in Omaha, NE to Byron and June Palmer. She remained in Omaha, graduated from North High School, and worked as a cosmetologist.
Sally married Gilbert Nielsen and moved to the Kansas City area in 1961. Gil and Sally were married for 42 years.
Sally’s passions in life were family, gardening, golf, and ice skating. A perfect day for Sally would be spent surrounded by her 4 children and 9 grandchildren. One of her proudest moments was getting a hole-in-one at the Tetering Rocks Golf Course.
Sally was a dear spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Gil Nielsen, parents, Byron and June Palmer, and sister, Suzie Metzler. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Falls of Ridgefield, WA, 4 children, Sheryl Nielsen of Carmel, IN, Kirk Nielsen of Lee’s Summit, MO, Carrie Dahmer of Lee’s Summit, MO, Aren Nielsen of Atlanta, GA, and 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10-11:00 am, Monday, July 12th at Longview Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. Burial in Longview Memorial Gardens.
