Ruth D. Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 23, 2023, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. She was born on August 17, 1938, in the thriving city of Kansas City, Missouri. Ruth led a remarkable life filled with love, devotion, and countless cherished memories.
Ruth's incredible career as the Executive Secretary of the Kauffman Foundation showcased her dedication and professionalism. With only a high school education, she achieved high levels of employment and left an indelible mark on her profession. Ruth's unwavering commitment and exceptional work ethic were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working with her. Showing her boys, the way to build a professional legacy as well.
While Ruth's professional accomplishments were impressive, her greatest joys came from her role as a mother and grandmother. She will forever be remembered for her active involvement in all her sons' activities and adventures as they grew up. From sports events to school performances, Ruth was always there cheering them on with unwavering support and boundless love.
Family was everything to Ruth. Her warm and kind-hearted nature made her a mother to everyone she met. Her loyalty knew no bounds, and she embraced every opportunity to show kindness and generosity to those around her. Ruth's strong faith guided her through life's ups and downs, providing comfort and solace during difficult times.
Aside from her professional achievements and dedication to family, Ruth was an integral part of the Heart of Life church in Lee's Summit and Garden City. Her involvement in the church community showcased her unwavering devotion to serving others and living out her faith. Ruth's commitment to spirituality was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Outside of work and church commitments, Ruth found joy in being with her family and supporting her husband throughout their lives together. They shared countless moments of happiness that will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to witness their deep love for one another.
Ruth's memory will be forever cherished by her sons Todd and Cameron Miller, and her daughters-in-law LeAnna and Sara Miller. She was a loving and doting grandmother to Justin, Mathew, Saige, Jake, and Wyatt. Ruth's legacy of love extends to her great-grandchildren Ethan, Marla, Josephine, Lucy, and Wesley. She was the pillar of strength and guidance for all those who were blessed to call her family.
Ruth is reunited in heaven with her husband Roger L. Miller, father Robert Black, mother Ada Cunningham, and brother Robert E. Black. Her presence will be deeply missed by her surviving loved ones and friends.
A visitation service to pay tribute to Ruth's beautiful life will be held on July 28, 2023, at Longview Funeral Home in Kansas City. The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following the visitation, a funeral service honoring Ruth's memory will commence at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held at Longview Cemetery in Kansas City following all indoor services.
Ruth D. Miller touched the lives of many with her kindness, love, and unwavering faith. Her memory will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
