Richard Dean Mather, 83, of Greenwood, MO passed away on November 5, 2017.
Richard was born on July 3, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to Leo and Grace Ruth Mather. Richard was a longtime Kansas City area homebuilder and developer, past president of KCHBA and current board member, Senior Life Director of the National Association of Homebuilders, and former Ozanam board member. He loved boating, golfing, traveling, shooting sports, motorcycles, spending time with his family, and he was an avid collector.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois; his sons: Brian (Karolyn) Mather and Mark (Kristin) Mather; 5 grandchildren; and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11th at 10:00 am at Longview Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Cornerstones of Care, formerly called Ozanam Home, https://cornerstonesofcare.org/donate.
