Richard Kelley Hixon
On Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 Richard went to his heavenly home after a long illness. He was born on Nov. 4, 1931 in Dade County, Missouri to Ferol and Millard (Jim) Hixon. On July 15, 1950 he was united in marriage to Doris M. Beck and they had over 61 years together. Richard was a Navy Korean War Veteran. In 1964 the Ford Motor Company Tractor Division transferred Richard and his family from Springfield to Belton, MO. where they still reside. After retiring from Ford he went to work for D.W. Newcomer's Sons where he was a Funeral Director and left there when his health became too bad. Richard was a deacon and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Belton. Richard was preceded in death by his mother in 1959 and father in 1981, his sister Maxine Grant in 2006 and brother in law Richard Grant in 1999. He is survived by his wife Doris of the home; daughter Kelley (Scott) Runge of Bismarck, N.D.; daughter Beth Hixon of the Home; granddaughter Brooke McCarty of Lowell, AR; one Aunt and a handful of cousins along with lots of nieces and nephews on the Beck Family side. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 11th from 5:30 – 6:30 PM at the First Baptist Church in Belton (810 S. Cedar Belton, MO. 64012). Graveside services will be Saturday, Dec. 17th at 11:00AM, at the Ash Grove Cemetery in Ash Grove, MO. In honor of Richard's memory memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church in Belton.
