Reino R. Walikainen, 85, Raymore, MO., passed away August 1, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services, 11am Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Newcomer’s Longview Funeral Home Kansas City, MO. Burial Longview Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 10 – 11am at the chapel before the service.
Reino was born October 26, 1923 in Baltic Michigan. He was raised by his Uncle on a farm near Perth, N.D. Reino was a WW II veteran serving in the European and South Pacific Theatre’s of war.
Following his military service, Reino worked at the Bendix Corporation at Kansas City, MO, retiring December 31, 1985. After retirement he owned and operated the Tax Shelters Inc., a personal income tax service, until August 2003. Reino was a member of First Baptist Church Grandview and formally at Grandview Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, four sisters and five brothers.
Reino is survived by his wife Helen and step-children Sharon Roberts (Jim), Shawn Hart (David), Nancy DeLuca (Dan), Carole White, and Pierre Vanhoye Jr.
