Paul Michael Clark, 77, of Kansas City, passed away October 3, 2024. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 9th at Longview Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Friends of Lakeside Nature Center, Inc, 4701 E. Gregory Blvd, KCMO 64132, or to the Gary Sinise Foundation, P. O. Box 40726, Nashville, TN 37204.

Paul was born on October 6, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Jeremiah Thomas and Thelma Jene (Clubb) Clark. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corp from 1965-1969. After his honorable discharge, he married Diane L. Cantrell on May 8, 1970. Paul was a police officer with the Kansas City Police Department, retiring after nearly 29 years. He was a member of the Police Emerald Society, and was instrumental in the founding of Friends of Lakeside Nature Center, Inc. Paul loved gardening and keeping his family and friends supplied in “Granny Cantrell” tomatoes. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeff Moad.  He is survived by his wife, Diane, of 54 years; children: Elisabeth Grace, Matthew Paul, and Daniel Joseph Clark; grandson, Cole Jackson Clark; his stepfather, Bill N. Rickles; two brothers, Will Clark (wife, Carol) and Harvey Clark; a sister, Tommy Ann Clark; a sister-in-law, Holly Moad; brother-in-law, Daniel Cantrell (wife, Kim); and numerous nieces and nephews.

As far as Paul’s children were concerned, he was deserving of the Best Father In The World award. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
