Oran "Phil" Roberts

Oran “Phil” Roberts, 83, of Lee’s Summit passed away on December 5, 2016.
Phil was born on February 13, 1933 to Oran and Mattie Belle Roberts in Frederick, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school in Tipton, OK, he worked a variety of jobs in the oil field. He retired from MAPCO in 1996 after 36 years of employment. He liked to golf and had a love for KU. He enjoyed his time watching the grandkids play sports, especially softball, and spending time with them. He was a member of the Blue River Church of Christ.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaVetta; and brother, Danny. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sue; his children: Rick (Cheryl) Roberts, Mike (Kim) Roberts, and Laurie (Wade) Kerley; his grandchildren: Kelly Roberts, Stacey (Adam) Cole, Krislyn Roberts, Sydney & Hayley Kerley; one great-grandchild, Brandon Cole; brother, Meredith (June) Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 am at Blue River Church of Christ, 221 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064, with a visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Memorial donations are suggested to John Knox Village Hospice.
