Nancy Ruth Caster, 80, passed away on December 12, 2019.
Nancy was born on May 27, 1939 to Morris and Lola Cannon in Dodge City, Kansas. After graduating from Dodge City High School she moved to the Kansas City area to attend St. Luke’s Nursing College. Nancy worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 47 years in Kansas City and also for a short time in Colorado. She married Earl Caster in May of 1957 and from this marriage they had three children. Earl and Nancy owned a BBQ restaurant, Caster’s Filling Station, in Cameron, Missouri. Nancy had many hobbies and pastimes, including singing, cheering on the Chiefs, and cooking, especially her favorite, Mexican food, paired with a nice cold margarita. She was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing and crocheting baby blankets, even making wedding dresses, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Earl Caster. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Mark (Kristine) Caster, Cheryl Scott, and Debbie Dittenber; stepson, Doug Caster; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
