Anna “Maxine” Tebbe Eichhorn, 86, Grandview, MO, passed away on May 4, 2010 comfortably at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church 13000 Bennington Ave. Grandview, MO, Friday, May 7, 2010. Burial to follow at Longview Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Maxine was born March 29, 1924 in Bonner Springs, KS to Louis A. Tebbe and Anna T. Young. Maxine met her husband, Harlie F. Eichhorn, in Bonner Springs where she lived. They were married on May 9, 1942, a union lasted over 66 years. During WWII Maxine worked at Pratt & Whitney in Kansas City. After raising her children she worked for several years in the Grandview School District cafeteria. From 1977 to 1988 she worked alongside her daughter Carolyn, at Crews Jewelry. She was a member of the Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church since 1958. Maxine became very involved and served several years on the Salvation Army Auxiliary Board. Maxine and her husband traveled during the winter in their RV for a number of years after Harlie retired. They also had a second home at the Lake of the Ozarks for over 20 years. The last few years together they spent enjoying in the comforts of their home of 53 years. This last year Maxine put up a great fight with COPD and a brain bleed, and looked forward to visits from her great-grandson, Blake. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that will be greatly missed by many. Maxine is preceded in death by her husband Harlie, her father Louis Tebbe, mother Anna Young, brothers Virgil, Herman, Vincent, and Louis Tebbe, sisters Cynthia Pettijohn, Mildred Derinizski, Bernice Warren, and Gertrude Sloan. She is survived by a son Ronald Eichhorn of Kansas City, MO; daughter Carolyn Crews Pope and husband Philip of Loch Lloyd, MO; granddaughter Stacey Stauch and husband Jeremie of Raymore, MO; grandson Ryan Eichhorn and wife Keri of Belton, MO; great-grandson Blake Stauch. The family would like to extend their gratefulness to all the wonderful caregivers that provided Maxine with such care and compassion.
