Mary Louise Thayer, 81, of Grandview MO passed away on November 1, 2015.

Mary was born December 28th, 1933 in Kansas City MO to Joseph F. and Ruth Riedesel.  Mary and her family were lifelong residents of Grandview MO.

Mary directed Duplicate Bridge in South Kansas City for over 50 years and was a Life Master with her husband, Pat.  She was always involved in her children’s after school activities and offered her leadership skills by volunteering for officer positions of social organizations throughout her life, including multiple years serving as President of the Grandview Study Club, and as President of the Grandview PTA.  She was involved with all her children’s scouts, sports, and other activities.  She had many hobbies including ceramics, sewing, and cooking, especially big family dinners around the holidays.  She was an amazing cook.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph W. Riedesel.  She is survived by her husband, Perry (Pat) Thayer Jr.; her children: Paul (Sue) Denzer, Peter Denzer, Andrew (Jill) Denzer, John (Genia) Denzer, and MaryPat (Chris) Carnes; her grandchildren: Stephanie (David), Benjamin, Apryl, Elizabeth, and Brittany; and great-grandson, Mason.

Visitation will be held at Longview Funeral Home (12700 S. Raytown Rd.  Kansas City, MO  64149) on Saturday, November 7th from 1:30-3:00PM, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00PM.
