Mary Shelton

Mary L. Shelton, 97, who lived in Grandview, MO, for over half a century, passed away March 15, 2008 at the Blue River Care Center. Mary retired in 1972 from the Grandview School System, where she was a cafeteria manager. She was a member of Boy Scout Troop 338's Mothers' Club for decades. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Mary enjoyed her many friends and relatives and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a sweet woman who found good in everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Harold, and her brother, James Smith. She is survived by three children: Barbara Bales of Kansas City; Robert and Norleen Shelton of Goodyear, AZ; and Roger and Cheryl Shelton of Grandview, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Blue River Care Center and Grace Hospice for the support that they gave our mom. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the Harold C. Shelton Memorial Fund, which sponsors boy's at H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp. Funeral Service 11am Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Newcomer's Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery.
