Mark Bauer

Mark Wayne Bauer, 60, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on February 6, 2019 at KC Hospice House.

Mark was born June 5, 1957 in San Francisco, CA to Ronald W. Bauer and Mary L. Wakefield. At age 21, Mark left Kansas City to travel Europe, where he met his first wife Gudren in Germany, where they raised 3 children for 29 years. Mark moved back to the States and lived in Seattle for 10 years. He returned to KC to spend his last days with friends and family. Mark celebrated his life with interests in travel, music, motorcycles, and tae kwon do where he earned a 2nd degree black belt.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Mary L. Wakefield. He is survived by his children: Joanna Bauer, William Bauer, and Gerrit Bauer; granddaughter, Helena; his father, Ronald W. Bauer; siblings: Karen (John) Milone, Brenda (Rodney) Johnson, Dirk (Kami) Bauer, Darren Wakefield; a very dear cousin, Michaelene Van Gelder; and many nieces, nephews and many more great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 10:30 am with a memorial service to be held at Longview Funeral Home on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery and a reception will follow. Memorial donations are suggested to Kidney Cancer Foundation.
