MARILYN JO (Davolt) FAULKNER, 75, of Raymore MO, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday February 12, 2022.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, with a Visitation at 10am followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at Longview Funeral Home.
The family welcomes all to gather for lunch at Faulkner’s Ranch afterwards. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Marilyn was born on March 14th, 1946, in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Ruskin High School where she met the love of her life Robert “Bob” Faulkner, and they were married 56 years. While newlyweds they lived in Viernheim, Germany and traveled throughout Europe during Bob’s Army Service, eventually settling in Kansas City where they started their family. Marilyn was a devoted mother and homemaker and later co-founded Ranch Entertainment, Inc. which operated the Benjamin Ranch for 25 years and later founded Faulkner’s Ranch with her husband and children. Together they produced thousands of special events to include corporate picnics, private rodeos, weddings, and a seasonal pumpkin patch on their family farm.
Out of all of her endeavors her most treasured roll was that of “Oma” to her grandchildren. She was often the most passionate fan in the stand at their sporting events. Marilyn loved spending the winters in Venice, Florida where she became the ultimate “snowbird” combing the beaches for shark teeth and shells. She also loved shopping, playing games and planning outings with her Florida friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Neval and Lucinda Davolt, sister Ladonna and nephews Billy and Bobby Hedges.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Bob Faulkner, sister Sheila Scoggins, son Matthew (Madison and Brody Faulkner), and daughter Christine Faulkner (Glory and Miles Loneman) and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Sweet Marilyn and her beautiful smile will be greatly missed by all her knew and loved her.
