Majlean Green, 84 years old, of Kansas City passed away on April 21, 2017.
Majlean Green was born March 17, 1933 in Springfield, Arkansas to Mitchell Simpson and Emogene Simpson-Allen.
Mother Green was born in Springfield, Arkansas, but was raise in Morrilton, Arkansas. She moved to Kansas City in December of 1964. She enjoyed life and her kids, and loved bowling and cooking. She worked at Research Hospital for 30+ years until she retired. She loved the Lord and fellowship with her Church, Concord Fortress of Hope Church, where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, watching Westerns, and listening to her favorite music.
Majlean was preceded in death by her father, Mitchell Simpson; her mother, Emogene Simpson-Allen; her sons: Howard Green, Jr and David Green; his sister, Thelmarie Ersery; brothers: F.T. Simpson, Samuel Simpson, Lloyd Simpson; and her great-grandchildren: Alfran M. Gant, Marcus Gant, and Howard Green, III.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Green, Sr.; her daughters: Bettie J. Hopkins, Annie Brown, Lenora R. Jones, and Elizabeth A. Green; her sons: Robert C. Green and William Green; 14 grandkids; 21 great-grandkids; 29 great-great-grandkids; her brother, Mitchell (Charlotte) Simpson; special sisters: Linda Simpson and Thelma Simpson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Concord Fortress of Hope Church, 11050 W Longview Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64134, on Monday, May 1st, 2017 at 11:00 am, with a visitation being held from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
