Lonnie Potter

Lonnie Edward Potter, 79, of Grandview, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022, at his home in Grandview, Missouri. Lonnie was born on November 28, 1942, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the loving home of Hershel and Lottie (Bost) Potter. He was raised in Pleasant Hill, Missouri and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1960. After graduation Lonnie would go on to work for R&O products in Olathe, Kansas, Granco Industries in Grandview, Missouri, and Pioneer Engineering in Grandview, Missouri before retiring in 2006.

Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go fishing. He looked forward to deer hunting season with his brothers every year. He enjoyed springtime Morel mushroom hunting, enjoyed gardening, raising his rabbits, and spending countless hours at the lake in Stockton, Missouri.

Lonnie was a longtime member of the Crosspointe Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. He always enjoyed Sundays listening to Pastor Bill Boren give Sunday Sermons.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Hershel E. Potter and Lottie (Bost) Potter, First Wife Carolyn S. Potter of 46 years, brothers William “Bill” Potter (2005), Robert Lee Potter (2021), and sister Mildred “Millie” (Potter) Schmitt (2016).

He is survived by his wife Therese Tatem-Potter of 11 years, children Donna (Potter) Burghoff, Jeff Potter, Joshua (Katelyn) Tatem, and Seth (Amanda) Tatem, brother Charles “Chuck” Potter, grandchildren Tiffany, Kaylee, Chase, Chelsea, Thomas, Jameson, SJ, and Ryker. Many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lonnie will be missed by many other family and friends.

Services will be in the care of Longview funeral Home and Cemetery- 12700 SE Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64149 on Monday March 14, 2022, with visitation at 10:30am followed by funeral and burial at 11am.
