Lisa Holm-Block

Lisa Ann Holm-Block, 53, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on September 1, 2021. Lisa was born into the loving home of Earle & Sherry Holm in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1995, Lisa married Jeff Block, and from that union was blessed with three amazing children Jessica, Miranda, and Matthew. Wanting to spend most of her time with her children, Lisa became a stay-at-home mom until all of her children went to school. Although she was blessed, Lisa also faced trials in her life. She was diagnosed with cancer which she courageously overcame and has been a survivor of for eight years.

In 1986, Lisa graduated from Lansing High School. Years later, she attended Central Missouri State University and earned her bachelor’s degree in middle school education, graduating in 2005. After graduation, she began teaching middle school math and enjoyed educating the youth of her community. She returned to the University of Central Missouri in 2011 to earn her master’s degree with an emphasis in K-12 Education, in only one year. During her graduate education, Lisa was inducted as a lifetime member into the Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society. Lisa was most recently using her talents to educate students at Frontier Schools. There she earned many praises from her colleagues, most notably, being named 2020-2021 teacher of the year, an accomplishment in which she was immensely proud of.

There was nothing more important to Lisa than her family. She especially loved spending time with them and often hosting holidays and family birthdays. She enjoyed attending church and building relationships with those at Abundant Life. The only thing that rivaled her love for her family was her beloved Yorkie, Bailey Mae.

Lisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Earle and Betty Holm and Roy and Mildred Puckett.

She is survived by her parents Earle Holm Jr. (Sherre McGee) and Sherry “Puckett” Smith (Larry Smith). Her children: Jessica Block (Phillip Randle), Miranda Block (Joseph McCorkle), and Matthew Block. Her grandchildren: Adam, Isaiah, and Sophia Block. Her siblings: Kim Heckman, Donna Gast, and David Holm (Crystal Holm). Lisa will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

Services for Lisa will be Tuesday September 14, 2021, Visitation will begin at 4pm followed by a funeral service at 5:30pm all taking place at Abundant Life Church: 414 SW Persels Rd, Lee's Summit, Mo 64081.
