Leslie Frank Conley, age 80, of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away at his home on Friday, February 29, 2008. He was born Feb. 26, 1928, near Morrisville, Mo. His parents were William I. Conley and Flora Maude Pippin Conley. Les served in the Army from 1946 to 1949 and achieved a rank of corporal. After leaving the Army, he worked in Springfield, Mo., later moving to Kansas City, Mo., where he worked for and retired from Contractor's Supply Company. Les was an active member in the Longview Methodist Church and the Longview Twisters Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and bass with several country, gospel groups throughout the Kansas City area. Survivors include one son, Scott Conley of Lee's Summit; and Floydene Gillihan of the home. Les was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Beaulah Williams Conley; his parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
