LeRoy Cornwell

LeRoy Eugene Cornwell, 91, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully at the Missouri Veteran Home in Warrensburg, Missouri on July 1, 2022. LeRoy was born on November 18, 1930, in Bushong, Kansas to the loving home of Raymon Cornwell and Villa (Duncan) Cornwell.

LeRoy later enlisted in the United States Air Force in Kansas City, Kansas on December 5, 1950, and served during the Korean war till his was honorable discharged in Gulfport, Mississippi on September 6, 1954. After his time in the service, he met the love of his life Laura E. Jesse and thy were married at Calvary Baptist Church on March 31, 1956. LeRoy and Laura were blessed with two children Lynn and Larry. They loved spending time together and listening to dad’s stories about his career in computer programming. LeRoy in his free time loved to play golf and tennis.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents Raymon Ensign Cornwell and Villa Rosetta (Duncan) Cornwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Laura Cornwell, children Lynn Frazee and Larry Cornwell, grandchildren Michelle Alqlaf, Crystal Krohn, and Justin Frazee. Great grandchildren Carissa Alqlaf, Kyra Tate, Noah Alqlaf, and James Krohn. Siblings Anna Westfall, Zelma Lary, Clara Pyles, and Tom Cornwell. LeRoy will be truly missed by many extended family members and friends.

Services will be in the care of Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery- 12700 SE Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64149. Visitation will be Wednesday July 6, 2022, with Service at 11AM followed by graveside with honors.
