Loretta Christine “Chris” (Spradley) Selby 69, of Lee’s Summit passed away on April 7th at her home surrounded by her loving husband of 32 years and family.
Chris was born in Waycross, Georgia and lived her childhood in Florida before making Kansas City, MO her home for nearly 45 years. Chris fought a courageous battle against cancer, and chose to live her life with a positive attitude bringing joy to many.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Selby; son and daughter-in-law, Jack B. and Laura Selby; grandchildren: Megan, Brian, and Nathan; sister, Regena (Jeanie) Nichols of Lake Charles, LA; mother, Trudie Mae Kendrick of Jacksonville, FL; and her 4 precious dogs. She was preceded in death by her son, Ron Bennington and her father, Peter Oscar Spradley.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:30 pm, with a funeral service at 1:30 pm at Longview Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO. Interment immediately following in Longview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the animal shelter, Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137 or online at www.waysidewaifs.org.
