Kenneth W. Brase (Kenny) entered a calm rest in the arms of Jesus with family at his side on Monday January 13, 2025. Kenny spent most of his life in his hometown of Muscatine, Iowa. He worked at Thatcher’s Plastics for several years, and this is where he met the love of his life, Joann. They were married and spent many happy years together before her passing in 2018.
Prior to this, Kenny proudly served in the United States Air Force. He would often speak about his deployment locations, he was partial to the warmer locations, Guam and Homestead, Florida.
Kenny and Joann spent several winters in South Padre Island, Texas. They would travel around, engage in local activities, enjoy the beach and appreciate the warm weather. They cherished their winters there. While in Muscatine, they regularly attended Calvary Church. They grew in their faith and developed many close relationships with church leaders and members of their Bible Study Class. Kenny also had a great fondness for Pearl City Outreach and Pastor Phillips. He also enjoyed bike rides, fishing and bird watching.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Those left to honor him are children Brenda (Jack) Brown, Tom Brase, and Lisa (Bill) Woodburn, brother Richard Brase (Joann), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kenny had much love and appreciation for Joann’s family as well, especially his bond with Debbie Shafer. A private family service will be planned later.
