Joel was a compassionate loving caring man. He sought after new information more than food. He was a jack of all trades, but he held knowledge like no other. If anyone had a question they couldn't figure out, they asked Joel. He just knew the answers to everything. Those things he was unable to answer, he just knew where to find the answer for it. Many went to him for advice, guidance, and assistance. He was known for being the guy that would get it done. Whatever “it“ may be.
I am sadden to say the last 5-6 years of his journey were not the best. They were not pleasant by any means. Joel endured pain no one should have to, he endured the most in-compassionate uncaring people. It changed him. It was a very long, tough road that he got lost traveling for a long time, but he has found his way to the end of that road, to this chapter in life. He has moved to a much better road to Heaven, where he will await our smiling faces.
I had allowed myself even to go down this long dark road, and with all the trees and difficulties in life, allowed it to cloud my view on the way things once were. I have been surrounded by people of the past who are shining light back into this dark road. Removing trees that blocked the sunlight from entering. I had lost sight on this caring, loving man I had once married. But am reminded that although times were hard, that was not his true character we saw at the end! That was merely a product of pain. It took me a bit to let my mind get back past the present we were living, and be able to remember who Joel Weber truly was.
Who was Joel Weber? He was a friend, brother, that guy that after talking to for an hour you felt like you'd know him your whole life! The one you could count on for the answer to anything that came your way. If you didn't know, just ask Joel. If he didn't know, it wasn't long before he found out. He had a passion to learn. He sought knowledge. He treasured knowledge. He loved to care for others, but hated to think he needed to be cared for. He was never in the spotlight, but rather remained behind the scenes. He was the loving husband of Teresa (Combs) Weber for 18 years, cherished dad of Patrick, Justice and Emily; loving brother of Mandy, Stephanie, James and David. He was a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all.
He will be forever behind the scenes, guiding us, slipping us the answers. Our true guardian angel.
