Jeffery Scott Cunningham

Jeffery Scott Cunningham, 66, passed away on May 31, 2023. He was born in Kansas City on June 5, 1956, to David Scott Cunningham and Marilynn (Treadway) Cunningham. Jeffery is survived by his son Brian Scott Cunningham (wife Angel), daughter Jennifer Rignell (husband Brett), grandchildren Katelyn, Marissa, McKenna, Morgan and Bryson Scott; his mother, Marilynn Cunningham; brother-in-law Dick Cary; and nieces Lana Cary and Casey Horn.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Karen (Sheldon) Cunningham, whom he married on January 18, 1975; his father, David Scott Cunningham; and his sister, Gail Cary.

Growing up in Raytown, Jeff graduated from Raytown South High School before starting his career as a furniture refinisher. He worked for many places throughout his life including J.C. Penney's, Jones Store and Dillard's. After retirement he worked at Lowe's where he loved helping customers find what they needed.

Jeffery had many hobbies aside from his career. As an avid Chiefs season ticket holder and NASCAR enthusiast, he had a passion for sports that he loved sharing with others. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Jeffery also found great joy watching his kids play sports when they were young. In recent years he loved nothing more than watching his granddaughters play softball and dance.
