Jayne Ellen Hardee Chrouser, age 57, took her last breath in this world at 10:22pm, surrounded by her family, on February 19th, 2015, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Jayne was born on April 1st, 1957 in Corning, Iowa, to parents Robert & Beverly Hardee. She grew up in Bedford, Iowa & graduated from Bedford High School in 1975. She later attended Ozark Christian College, as well as Bellevue University, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in sacred literature & a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, specializing in technical support. Her professional positions included being Clarinda High School's administrative assistant from 1999 to 2006 and after a move to Louisville, Kentucky, Jayne worked in property management with PNC Bank from 2010 to 2015. Jayne was loved by her colleagues and was known for being a self-starting go-getter.
Jayne perpetually strived to be the best, at whatever she put her hand to in life.
Her family was no exception to that. Jayne was a loving wife & mother. On August 19th, 1979 she married Bruce Chrouser and they shared that union for 35 years. From their marriage, she gave birth to four children: Meredith Ann Chrouser, Elizabeth Jayne Chrouser, James Hardee Chrouser and Amber Elizabeth Chrouser.
Jayne lived a beautiful and fulfilling life.
In December of 2014, Jayne's diagnosis of terminal brain cancer came as a shock. What was not a shock, however, was the grace and dignity with which she handled that day, as well as every day that followed, until her last. She spent the last two months, surrounded by family & friends, soaking in all that life had left to offer while looking forward to entering her Heavenly home.
She will be forever missed and will live on in the memories of those who loved her...
She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert & Beverly Hardee; Bruce’s parents: Alfred & Mary Ann Chrouser; beloved niece: Karye Jayne Willard and Jayne’s infant daughter, Elizabeth Jayne Chrouser.
Jayne is survived by her husband, Bruce Chrouser, of Louisville, Kentucky; her children: Meredith (Micah), James (Blaire) and Amber; her grandchildren: Piper Hall (Micah & Meredith) & Cole Chrouser (James & Blaire); her siblings: Michael Hardee (Dorothy), Marla Willard (Bruce) & Bill Hardee (Susan), Christine Brown (Samuel), Alfred Chrouser (Carla) & Cathryn Miller (Thomas); as well as numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that she adored.
Memorial services will be held at Longview Funeral Home, in Kansas City, Missouri on February 28th. A visitation will take place from 10am-12pm, followed by a service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bruce Chrouser, who will be distributing them to various ministries that Jayne held close to her heart.
