James "Jim" Schmidt

James “Jim” Schmidt, 63, of Lee’s Summit, passed away on April 17th, 2018.

Jim was born November 16, 1954 in Kansas City to David and Martha Schmidt. He was a 1972 graduate of Raytown South High School. He spent 38 years selling construction supplies. Jim is best remembered for his sense of humor and loved making others laugh; he truly had never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. His hobbies included golfing, poker, sports, entertaining friends, and attending events for his grandchildren.

He is survived by daughter, Jaymie and her husband, Chris; son, Ryan and his wife, Lara; four grandchildren, Quinn, Candence, Allison and Layla; his parents: David and Martha Schmidt; brother, Dan and wife, Patti; brother, Tom and wife, Cyndi; sister, Sue and husband, Buddy; and seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149 on Friday, April 20th, visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a celebration of life beginning at 7:00 pm.
