James W. O’Rourke passed away on August 25, 2014 at the age of 90 at John Knox Care Center. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM with a funeral service immediately following on Thursday August 28 at Longview Funeral Home.
James was born on May 25, 1924 in Ellsworth, MN to Timothy and Genevieve O’Rourke. He joined the Navy and served as an aircraft mechanic. After the war, he returned and married Arline Muffat on July 20, 1950. He took a job at Bendix Corp in Kansas City for 34 years where they lived and raised their three children: Mike (Reita) O’Rourke, DeeAnn (Larry) Matthews and Nancy O’Rourke and two grandchildren, Chris and Mike.
Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
