James 'Jim' Jegen

Jim Jegen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on August 24, 2024 at KC Hospice House. Born July 28, 1942 in Warrensburg, MO to Ann and Henry Jegen, one of four boys, his older brother Ronald Jegen, twin brother John Jegen and younger brother William Jegen. He graduated from Raytown High School and spent most of his life in the Kansas City area, namely Lee’s Summit. He married Sharon Fae “Radford” Jegen July 11, 1965 and the two were married for 59 wonderful years. They had two children Eric Robert Jegen and Kimberly Ann Jegen Crawford. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Bacon Plastics, Marley Heating and Cooling and Schultz Toole and Dye before retiring in 2013. He was passionate about playing golf and spending time outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Henry and his twin brother John. He is survived by his brothers Ronald Jegen and wife Sherry, William Jegen and wife Sharon; son Eric and wife Joyce and their children and families, Brad, Jaime, Lindsay, Kyle and Morgan; daughter Kimberly and husband Nick and their children Camryn and Caden. Jim and Sharon have 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Jim was known to be stubborn, witty and a bit ornery with a competitive streak when it came to cards and the golf he loved. He will miss all the crew and friends at Fred Arbanas Golf Course where he spent most of his free time.

Jim will be inurned at Longview cemetery surrounded by his parents and other family on August 30th, 2024 at 10am.
