James L. “Jim” Deshazer Jr., 69, of Kansas City, MO died on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born, July 1, 1948 in Lamar Colorado, to the late James L. Deshazer Sr. and Dorothy J. (Ruby) Deshazer.
Jim had a good sense of humor even to the day he died. He loved reading, Fill-In Puzzles, watching westerns and doing leather crafts. He retired from a career at the Nazarene Publishing House, was married for 44 years to the love of his life Cheryl.
He was the loving husband of Cheryl (Payne) Deshazer for 44 years, dear dad of Jolene (Jimmy) Mitchell and James L. “Jamie” Deshazer III, cherished grandfather of Annabelle and Sophia Mitchell; a beloved uncle, cousin and friend.
In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by his brother William Deshazer and Mildred Glenn.
There will be a gathering on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10-11 AM, with a service following at 11 AM at Summit View Church of the Nazarene 801 W 97th St, Kansas City, MO 64114. In lieu of “Doggone” Flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Jim’s name. Share online condolences at www.LongviewFuneralHome.com.
