Kansas City

James D. Coccia, born on April 27, 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 9, 2025. He is survived by his loving family, who will carry forward the memories of this remarkable man.

James could sell you your dream car. His charming charisma and salesmanship work were commendable at McCarthy Auto Group. James enjoyed playing Madden on his Xbox and fishing with his cousin Joe in his free time. James also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and his friend’s family. All of whom knew James had the ability to explain complex subjects in the simplest ways to anyone. James gave everyone the sense of “it is easy, no problem,” and “that’s all good, we got this.” He loved deeply, particularly his sister, with whom he shared a bond that was said to be like two peas in a pod. James had a tender heart, always ensuring his family knew they could count on him.

James was a devoted son to his mother, Teresina Coccia, stepfather, James Foster, and his father, Tony Coccia. He leaves behind two daughters, Patreice Coccia and Knisha Roberts, granddaughter, FaLeena Marie Lee Stanley, and his grandmother Margaret Lewis, who will always remember him fondly. James is also survived by his sisters, Teresina Nichole Foster and Emily Coccia, Aunts Catherine Hoppe and Jennifer Lewis, his niece, Payshence Rascoe, and his stepmothers, Brooke Foster and Lisa Coccia.

James is preceded in death by his grandfather William Lewis Sr, his uncle William Lewis Jr., his grandfather James Coccia, and his great-grandmother Socorro Padilla.

A visitation to honor James will be held at Longview Funeral Home, located at 12700 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149, on March 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. James's passing leaves a void in the lives of his family, and he will be missed deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. ‘
