Helen Louise Merryfield

Helen Louise Merryfield, 95, passed away April 16, 2024 at Belton Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, April 20^th at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City.   Burial will take place at 2pm at Utica Cemetery, Utica, MO.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Utica Cemetery.

Helen was born on September 11, 1928 in Chula, Missouri, to William Henry and Etta (Dillard) Graves.   She grew up and attended schools in Chillicothe, Missouri, where she met her true love, George, whom she married on March 24, 1951.  As a young woman, Helen loved to go dancing with her sister, Wanda, and to help her mother take care of the family.  After marriage she became a proud homemaker and continued to further dedicate her life to her husband, her sons, and especially her grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Roy Elton Merryfield; siblings:  Truman, Wanda, and Robert Graves; and her two sons, Roy and Mark Merryfield.

She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Tammy and Kay Merryfield; three grandchildren:  Marty Merryfield, Stephen Merryfield, and Sarah Lowenberg; eight great-grandchildren:  Shelby, Tristen, Melisa, Mayson, Gabriel, Brittney, Zachary, and Alexandra; and three great great grandchildren.
