Hazel Crane, a beloved matriarch and animal lover, passed peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 89. Born on February 26, 1936, in London, England, Hazel graced this world with her gregarious and friendly spirit, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A devoted caregiver, Hazel took great pride in looking after her husband, Robert Crane, prior to his passing.Hazel’s personality radiated warmth and kindness. She had a special love for music, particularly for the classics of Patsy Cline and Doris Day, often sharing her favorite tunes with family and friends. Her enjoyment of life's simple pleasures was also reflected in her fondness for plays and the cartoon Tom and Jerry.
She is survived by her loving son, Bruce Reinhart; her daughter, Paula McKeehan; her stepdaughters, Gena Crane, and Michelle Crane. Hazel was also the cherished mother of her late son, Steven Reinhart; and stepmother to her late stepsons, Steve and Rick Crane. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Hazel Crane's life will be celebrated with a visitation and funeral service on April 3, 2025, at Longview Funeral Home, located in Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Her radiant spirit and caring heart will forever remain in the memories of her family and friends. Hazel's legacy of love, compassion, and joy for life will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
