Everett Earl Draper, formally of KC, MO, passed away in Mesa, AZ on March 5, 2010--one day before celebrating his 90th birthday. He was born in St. Clair, Co. MO on March 6, 1920 to Earl Draper and Cynthia (Hamblin) Draper. Everett spent most of his life in the KC area and graduated from Ruskin HS, Missouri Valley College, and attended CMSC. His life-long interest in and passion for all aspects of sports and athletics was renowned. He was a successful participant, coach, official, organizer, and administrator. He began his professional career as a teacher and coach in Mountain Grove, MO and retired from the KC, MO Public School System. He was also a US Navy Veteran and served honorably in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Everett is survived by Elizabeth, his wife of 68 years, three children, Ronald, Don, and Deborah, sister, Edith Soetaert, step-brother, Don Sproull, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, six nieces, and three nephews.
Visitation will be at Newcomer’s Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 South Raytown Rd. from 11AM on Thursday, March 25, 2010 with services to follow at Noon.
