Donna Spears

Donna L. Spears, 85, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away on September 13, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 SE Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri, with visitation beginning at 11:00am and the memorial service beginning at 12pm and burial immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA, Donna’s favorite animal organization.

Mrs. Spears was born on November 28th, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She attended Southeast High School, where she met her Always love, Don.  The two were married in 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Donna was a stay-at-home mother with her two sons, Don and Jon.  She later became a stay-at-home grandma with her granddaughter, Megan, and grandson, Donnie.

Mrs. Spears volunteered at Belton Research Medical Center for 25 years, was an active member of the Belton Christian Church, and was an avid gardener.  She also loved to crochet beautiful blankets for loved ones and animal shelters, as well as make ceramics.  Donna loved spending time with her children, grandchildren (6), and great grandchildren (12).

Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and June Seested, and her husband, Don P. Spears.  Survivors include her sons, Don F. Spears (Melinda), and Jon Spears (Rena), granddaughter, Megan Larkey (Keith), grandson Don R. Spears (Jenny); and great grandchildren: “Little” Keith, Kain Don, Ezra, Lyra, and Cora.
