Donald “Don” Black 54, of Grandview, MO passed away on July 3, 2017 with his family at his side. Don was born January 24, 1963 in Tuscan, AZ to Albert Black and Dolores Burke.
Don was a loving husband, father and son who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the challenges life presented. He was the life of the party and a man to turn to for anything. He could not wait to spend time with his family, growing giant pumpkins, restoring favorite cars, and viewing lakes after a hard days work as a locomotive engineer for Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad. He was fascinated by the worlds progress with space, enjoyed biking, reading, and obtaining a plethora of knowledge.
Don was preceded in death by his father Albert Black. He is survived by his beloved wife Diana Black of 29 years, four children Jessica Hoffman (Joe), David Black, Sara Black, Tom Black; mother Dolores Burke and siblings Dennis Black (Carol), Pamela Macy, John Black (Tam) and three step siblings.
A rosary and visitation will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at St. Matthew Apostle Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at St. Matthews Apostle Catholic Church, 8001 Longview Rd, Kansas City, MO 64134 on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery.
