Diane Janice Seif, 66, of Lee’s Summit, MO, lost her courageous battle with cancer and was welcomed into the loving arms of her savior Jesus Christ on February 1st, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House of Kansas City.
Diane was born on February 11th, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri to Van C. and Thelma L. Jones. She was a 1970 graduate of Raytown High School. She was heavily involved, serving on student council, leading various clubs, and was voted homecoming queen. She graduated with honors from William Woods University in 1974 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. There, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and Student Body President. She was rewarded for her hard work and love of science with a dream job at Marion Laboratories, where her success in the pharmaceutical industry began.
In 1998, she became the founder and CEO of Regulatory Clinical Consultants, Inc. For her professional success, she was awarded the Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Award in Health Sciences, and was honored by Kansas City Business Journal as one of the Top 25 business women in the city.
Diane was extremely devoted to the Lee’s Summit community. Over the years, she served on countless committees for local organizations and non-profits. Highlights of her service include Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce Chair of the Board, President of Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation, President of Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit, and being elected as a representative of District 3 on Lee’s Summit’s City Council. She served on three Hospital Advisory Boards, was on the United Way Board of Directors, EDC Advisory Board, St. Luke’s Boo-Ball Committee, and was chair of the Holly Festival. She was the recipient of numerous awards, including Lee’s Summit’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The biggest success in her life was her family. She spent quality time every day with her husband, daughter and grandsons. She loved to read and spoil her two “little buddies,” Dalton and Bennett. Her relationship with her daughter Angela was the most special of all. They loved doing everything together. From girls’ trips, to concerts, to mother/daughter outings, or just sitting and talking over a puzzle, these were the best of times and they truly shared the most remarkable bond in the world.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents Van C. and Thelma Jones, and brother, Ray Van Jones. We take comfort in knowing they were waiting in heaven to greet her with open arms. Diane has become a guardian angel to her loving husband of 33 years, Vincent Seif; daughter, Angela (Seif) Hunsucker; son-in-law, Gregory Hunsucker; and two grandsons, Dalton and Bennett, all of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
A visitation will be held at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 5th, 2019 at 1:30 pm, immediately followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm. Internment will be at Longview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the incredible people at St. Luke’s Hospice House of Kansas City.
Diane was a loving Christian, leader, supporter, mentor, friend, sister, daughter, mother, and Gaga. We are so thankful God shared her with us for 66 years, and we can’t wait for her to greet us again in heaven.
