Delores Bruton

Delores G. Bruton, 81, passed away on September 16, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 19, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Services will be Friday September 25, 2020 with visitation at 10am followed by mass at 11am all at St. Matthew Apostle Church 8001 Longview Rd, Kansas City, Mo 64134.

Delores met and married Gary D. Bruton and from that union had 5 children; Gary, Eddie, Elizabeth, Debra, Melissa. She loved her family and making them big sausage link breakfasts every Sunday when they were growing up. When she wasn’t helping the kids and running the house she would love to relax and swing on the porch admiring her gardening that she would spend hours perfecting. She loved flowers and working in the yard it was her time to herself that she could just work and unwind.

Delores had a passion for scary movies and loved anything with sharks or crocodiles in them. She also enjoyed the Jurassic Park movies as well anything that could give you a good jump scare. She would watch her movies with her children and grandchildren. Delores loved spending all her time with family they were her everything.

Later in life Delores was very involved in her church and even joined the silver threads senior group that met and did activities together to stay happy and active. Delores loved being apart of her church community it was a second family to her.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents Lida & Marvin Swenehart, Husband Gary D. Bruton, Brother Edward Bowden, and Daughters Debra and Elizabeth Bruton. She is survived by her Son Gary G. Bruton, Son and Daughter-in-law Eddie and Sherri Bruton, Daughter and Son-in-law Melissa & Bill Carter, Brother Danny Bowden (Mary), her beloved dog Diesel and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Delores will be laid to rest at Longview Cemetery next to her parents and husband.
