Ronald Dale Bailey, 62, passed away unexpectedly at St. Joseph Hospital on Monday, April 15, 2013. Ronald was born on March 11, 1951 in Bucklin, MO, the son of the late Quentin Bailey and Geneva (Sullivan) Bailey. Ron served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971 and in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1974. Following his military service he served briefly as a police officer in Moberly, MO. In 1975 he married the love of his life and best friend, Linda Ruth Tosh, and on November 29, 2012 they celebrated 37 years of marriage. Ron retired from Yellow Freight Systems where he worked as an over the road truck driver and served proudly as a Union Steward. Ron had many hobbies and pastimes. He loved country music and played numerous guitars but his favorite was the pedal steel guitar. He was a member of the Heartland Steel Guitar Association and the Texas Steel Guitar Association. Ron was a founding member of the Winross Heart of America Toy Collectors Club and spent much of his time buying and selling collectible toy trucks with his many collector buddies. After his retirement from Yellow Freight, Ron became an auctioneer and formed Bailey Auctions. He spent many Saturdays going to auctions and garage sales searching for a great "deal." Ron was described by many as a "character." There was nothing he enjoyed more than telling a good joke. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Roger Bailey, and sister Connie. He is survived by his wife Linda, of the home, a son Jeff Bailey of Kansas City, sister Roberta Hubler ( Wayne Smith) of Butler, MO, sister Kay Truninger (John) of Pleasant Hill, MO, sister Marilyn Raleigh (Fred) of Lewiston, MO, sister Carla Myers (JC), of Preston, MO, brother Samuel Bailey (Pam) of Marceline, MO, and many, many nieces and nephews who were so dear to him.
