Clyde Lowell Borchers, 82, of Grandview, MO died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House.
He retired from General Motors – Leeds plant in May 1990. Clyde was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He married Betty Mae Seek in Lexington, Missouri. Clyde was born February 22, 1935 in Sweet Springs, Missouri to Wilhelm Heinrich Borchers and Izola Beatrice Dillon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James W. Borchers of Dodge City, KS and David C. Pointer of Lexington, MO. Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Richard (Gwen) W. Borchers of Overland Park, KS; four daughters: Debra Borchers of St. Joseph, MO; Terri (Mike) Teter of Centerview, MO; Rita M. Borchers of Grandview, MO; and Kimberly (Tom) A. Hendrix of Grandview, MO; one brother, Larry D. Pointer of Lexington, MO; grandchildren: Andrea Hunnicutt of Kansas City, MO; Cale Hunnicutt of Grandview, MO; Rachel (Jason) Seura of Raymore, MO; Megan (Jamie) Casper of Mission, KS; Jennifer (Carl Rogers) Stewart of Belton, MO; Justin (Kayla Edwards) Stewart of Raytown, MO; 5 great-grandchildren: Clare Kenyon, Storie Rose Hunnicutt, Colin, Jackson, and Cain Seura; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, with a funeral service being held at 12:00 p.m., all at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Kansas City Heart Institute.
