Carmen T. Stewart

Carmen T. Stewart, 64, passed away peacefully at home in Independence, Missouri on June 20th, 2023. Carmen was born on October 27th, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Donald Combs and Roberta Combs. She was the mom figure to everyone around her with a big heart which made everyone feel protected and loved.

Carmen's favorite hobbies included fishing, camping, reading Stephen King, and relaxing with family. She enjoyed spending time with family and always made sure to put them first! Carmen was a devoted wife to Travis Stewart and a loving mother to her children Eric Hodge and Teresa Weber as well as a stepmom to Christian Stewart. Carmen adored her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild deeply! She would talk about them non-stop; they were the light of her life.

Carmen is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Roberta Combs and her beloved son Eric Hodge. Carmen is survived by her devoted spouse Travis Stewart, daughter Teresa Weber, step-son Christian Stewart, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sisters Kim Sparks, and Colleen Domerese and brothers Cliff Combs and Kirk Combs to cherish and remember the joyous memories with her.

Her Celebration of Life service will be held outdoors at Longview Lake Shelter #7 in Lee's Summit MO on June 28th with service starting at 2:15 PM.

Carmen T. Stewart has gone too soon but her passing offers an opportunity for family and friends alike to gather together to reminisce upon their most precious memories with Carmen while celebrating the life of this inspiring woman who touched the hearts of many along her journey. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness as well as her selflessness through these memories that will live on forever.
