Cara Leigh (Oligschlaeger) Haddad, 39, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Jefferson City, MO on August 19,1978 the daughter of Dan and Pat Oligschlaeger. Cara was a 1996 graduate of Tipton High School. In 2000, she graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. She began working at Sprint in 2000 and was employed there until the time of her passing. On July 30, 2005 Cara was united in marriage to Josh Haddad at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Tipton, MO.
Cara’s love for life and vibrant personality attracted others to her. She possessed a contagious smile and was the life of the party. Her genuine concern for people and willingness to reach out to others made them feel appreciated and welcome. These special gifts won the hearts of many who call her friend. She never knew a stranger. Simply put, to know her was to love her.
Family and friends were Cara’s passion. She was a loving mother and devoted wife who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was proud of her children and enjoyed attending all of their school, social, and extracurricular events. Her nurturing love, affection, and faith endeared her to her children, nieces, nephews, children’s friends, and the youth she worked with at church. Because of the way she touched their lives, they considered her to be a role model and friend.
Cara was involved in both her church and community. She was an active member of Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit where she was involved in youth ministries. She was an active volunteer at her children’s school. Cara was also an avid runner who participated in countless events, including half and full marathons.
Cara was preceded in death by both her grandparents: Clarence and Martha Bret and Joe and Catherine Oligschlaeger; two aunts: Mary Ann Oligschlaeger and Joyce Welton; an uncle, Gus Oligschlaeger; and a cousin, James Oligschlaeger.
