Barbara Small Lione

March 9, 1938 — November 9, 2009

Barbara Lee Small Lione went to be with her Lord on November 9, 2009, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was born March 9, 1938, to Betty Marr Small and Cuthbert F. (Bert) Small in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, a Milwaukee suburb, where she was raised and went to school. She was baptized, confirmed and went to school at Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church and School in West Allis, WI. Barb lived in various places growing up throughout Wisconsin and Western New York as the family moved with her Dad’s employment. Barb’s nursing school studies in New York were permanently interrupted by marriage and children in 1957.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Johnson Harbolt, Dale (Kathy) Johnson, Ray (Carol) Johnson, Wendy Johnson Pitts of the Kansas City area, Jan (Jeff) Imhoff of Rochester, MN and Kari (Harold) Henry of Plano, TX. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters Sue (Ed) Olney of New London, NH; Sharon (Herman) Lehmann of Plano, TX; Linda Swindle of Red Oak, TX, and Jill Stai, of San Antonio, TX; and brothers, Jim Small of San Antonio TX; David (Connie) Small of Scurry, TX; and Jeff (Mary Ann) Small, of Boerne, TX; and brother-in-law Mike Turner of Southlake, TX.
Barb was predeceased by her parents, Bert and Betty Small, her infant daughter Patricia Lynn Johnson and her sister, Laurie Small Turner. Also survived by Jim Johnson of Lake Ozark.
Barb was a woman of faith her entire life and was sure of her place in God’s kingdom. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Lees Summit where Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 14, 2009. Visitation 1 hour prior to the Service with food and fellowship following. (Arrangements Newcomer’s Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 S. Raytown Road Kansas City, Mo. 64149. 816-761-6272).
