Angie Gonzalez

March 21, 1968 — January 30, 2025

Angie Gonzalez, 56, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on January 30th, 2025.

Angela was born in Kansas City, Kansas on March 21st, 1968. As a daughter from an immigrant family, Angela regularly traveled between the United States and her parents’ home state of Zacatecas in southern Mexico. This practice would last for many years as her family in Mexico played a vital role in her life.

It was during the late 1980s when Angela met the love of her life, Rodrigo “Mono” Gonzalez, and they married on February 17th, 1990. Their marriage lasted 35 years. Together, they led a union filled with love for family, community, and fellowship in Christ.

For most of her career, Angela was a realtor for The Ask Cathy Team at Keller Williams in Lee’s Summit, a career in which she excelled in. Known for her hard work and dedication, Angela was an asset to the KW family for many years.

A devout Catholic, Angela carried an unshakable faith. This faith inspired her throughout her life to help others, encourage those around her to shoot for the stars, and lead those she knew closer to God. One of her proudest accomplishments was advocating for the creation of the Hispanic Community at Our Lady of the Presentation Church in Lee’s Summit. Fifteen years later, Angela’s advocacy not only led many in her community closer to God, it also fostered a thriving community of diversity and inclusion.

A proud dog mom and Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan, Angela loved to spend time with her fur babies and family watching her favorite teams. It was a family tradition for Angela and her husband to host many get-together’s at their home, including for games and holidays. It is in her honor these traditions will continue.

Angela is survived by her husband, Rodrigo “Mono” Gonzalez; her sons, Rodrigo and Jason, and daughter Victoria Harvey (George); siblings Juanita Solís, Theresa Ramos (Ernesto), Dolores Solís-Nava (Alberto), Mark Solis, Gavino Solís, Dorothy Solís, and Mary Solís de Franco (Rogelio). Angela is preceded in death by her parents Maria Isabel Mendoza and John Solís.

Despite the battle against her illness, Angela remained strong, fearless, and faithful. These three descriptors are exactly the way she shall be remembered. A tremendous daughter, sister, mother, and friend, we take solace in knowing you are watching over us as your memory lives in our hearts forever.

Angela's family asks that donations be made to Our Lady of The presentation Catholic Church, Hispanic ministry in her name at https://olpls.org/ministerio-hispano-hispanic-ministry
